Thanks to sen. Coburn...NO unemployment benefits
Well my friends it seems as if some folks in our country will not be receiving their unemployment checks anytime soon. Thanks to Sen Tom Coburn Oklahoma (REP.) he alone blocked the unemployment benefit for Americans who have been out of work for more then 6 months. Now, I do think Senator Coburn had a right to ask if the 9 billion dollar cost would add to the national debt and to try to figure another way to come up with the money needed.
As you can see McCain , Coburn, Bunning and other republicans are so angry that the health bill passed. they do things and say thing as to where one would wonder if they care at all about America and it's people or just their own well being and if they will be elected when election time rolls around again.
I can promise you that these three morons do not give a damn about unemployment funds running out. I can also promise you that if any senator had to live and depend on unemployment to pay their bills and feed their family , If that were the case the unemployment fund would NEVER run out! They would see to it that there was always enough money in the fund. if congress had to have the same health plan we have, we would have the best plans available. At least the democrats have it that we can go into a pool and get the lowest prices there are for health insurance under the new health care law. I do not think if the republicans had their way that would not happen .
All I can say for now is the republicans in congress are acting like a bunch of spoiled brats. they are calling names and are angry that they did not get their way. This writer thinks they need to grow up and act like adults.
At this point I would not want any one of the republicans in congress leading the country.
Until next time my friends take care and stay healthy

SENATORS MUST DEAL WITH DEATH THREATS
Now that the health care reform bill has been signed into law, we have at least 10 senators that have received threats and even some death threats. What bothers me most of all is that the American people should NOT have to have this happen at all.

Passage of the Health Care Bill
It seems that now the health care bill is passed. If you were all for the bill then that is a good thing. if you didn't want it to pass then I guess you are a not a happy camper. As with any bill that congress takes on there are good parts of the bill and there are parts that are not good.
Democrats shouldn't expect much cooperation from Republicans the rest of this year, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) warned Monday.
McCain and another Republican senator decried the effect health reform legislation has had on the Senate, a day after the House passed the upper chamber's bill. GOP senators emerged Monday to caution that the health debate had taken a toll on the institution, warning of little work between parties the rest of this year.
"There will be no cooperation for the rest of the year," and "They have poisoned the well in what they've done and how they've done it." McCain said during an interview Monday on an Arizona radio affiliate.
Now to me his threat sounds like just that a threat. It also sounds like a spoiled child that didn't get want he wants and is striking out in anger. Most of all it makes me feel uneasy about the republican party not voting in favor of any legislation that might be good for the American people all because the republicans are upset with the democrats. Now, tell me is that the kind of people we want making laws for us? I hardly think so and anyone with a brain can see my logic on that statement.
I have often wondered if any of the republicans and any of the 34 democrats really care about the more then 45,000 people who die each year in this country because they are not covered with any health insurance? A lot of the uninsured are honest, hard working people that are not covered by employer health insurance or they can not get health insurance due to pre existing condition. Maybe they are not covered at work and they just can not afford health insurance on their own. Do these people deserve to get sick and die just because they can not get health insurance? The answer to that question for anybody who has a brain and a heart is NO!
This health care legislation will indeed take care of the ones that can not take care of themselves. and it will make life a lot easier for families that can not afford to have their children covered with health care . Yes it will cost money however, the United States government has wasted much more money for bull crap things and now money can be spent for something worth while.
AARP has stated the health care bill will indeed do a lot to help our senior citizens. And why not because the senior citizens in this country have already paid their dues now it is time to give back to them.
The one thing I have always felt is that republicans represent the wealthy. they really do not care about the average citizen and the way they handled during this health care bill just proves it. They used scare tactics in hopes to get this bill defeated and it did not work. Now they want to try to sue the federal government to get some aspects of the bill gone. Well, good luck to them because I really do think that as far as this law is concerned, federal law would supersede state law. Most of the time that is the case.
Even if you did not want this bill to become law, you should be happy it passed. the reason why is this... You either wanted or did not want health care to become law' either way the passage of this bill has done one thing. That thing is... This bill if nothing else has opened the eyes of the American people. if nothing else, the American people will be watching our elected officials a lot more closely now then ever before! As well as if the American people do not like what any of our law makers are doing ( such as the republicans making threats to not cooperate in any legislation be it good or bad) then at that time the American public will have the right to get them fired!!
If you are in favor of the health care reform legislation and you want to co sign the bill just click here to go to the site and co-sign the health care bill.
Until next time my friends stay healthy and take care.

Minimum Wage
Minimum wage was intended to protect the American worker from being exploited. However, there are still 5 southern states in the country that have no minimum wage laws at all. We also have 4 states that have a lower minimum wage then the wage set by federal law. Please see the map file from the Wikimedia Commons, which is a freely licensed media file repository.
The current minimum as of July 24, 2009 is set at 7.25 an hour, the wage differs in some states. Now ask yourself this question. Do you think that anyone can live off of $7.25 an hour? The answer should be NO. at that pay rate the employee only will make $290.00 a week and that is before any taxes or any other with holdings are taken out. That just is NOT a fair wage for anyone. Several questions and answers about the minimum wage laws can be found at the US Goverment info: Minimum Wage page.
I think we all should be letting congress know that a person can not live off of $7.25 an hour. After all congress gives themselves a nice raise every year or two and they are not worried about you and I. I can promise you if members of congress had to live off of min. wage. the pay scale would indeed go way up very fast.
It is up to each and everyone of us to stand and fight to get a higher min wage for our people. The min. wage should be at least 10 dollars per hour if not more. I ask each and every one of you reading this to contact your congress person and demand that the min wage issue must be made a priority due to the importance of the issue. Let them know that if the min. wage is not increased by the time the November elections rolls around they themselves could be looking for jobs.
Until nest time my friends take care.

Finally just last month a man who lived in PA died even though there were several calls made to 911 that this man needed emergency help and the caller was told that help was on the way but help never arrived until it was way to late.
As I stated earlier, most 911 calls are handled by the 911 operator in a professional manner and when they tell you help is on the way it usually is on the way. However, I do feel that the 911 operators should have more training and be held accountable for their actions when mess ups are made and if it is the 911 operator's fault.
